How many pins per day should you post? For most accounts in 2026, 1 to 5 fresh pins a day, every day, beats anything bigger and patchier. Large blogs and shops with hundreds of pages can go higher, toward 10 or 15, if every pin is a genuinely new image for a real page. Pinterest has no official daily limit. The old advice of 15 to 25 pins a day came from a time when repinning counted; today Pinterest rewards fresh pins and consistency, not volume.

How many pins per day, by account type

AccountFresh pins a dayWhy
Brand-new account (first two weeks)0 → 5, ramping upAvoid looking like a spam account starting up
Blogger with under 100 posts1–3Enough to keep every post fresh without repeating yourself
Established blog, 100–500 posts3–5Each post gets a new pin every few months
Large blog or shop, 500+ pages5–15Only if every pin is new: new image, new keyword
Coming back after months awayTreat it like a new accountSudden jumps after silence look unusual

The right number isn’t a target to hit. It’s the number of genuinely new, useful pins you can keep producing every day for months. Two a day for a year beats twenty a day for two weeks.

Is there a Pinterest pin limit per day?

Pinterest publishes no official daily pin limit. In a 2020 webinar Pinterest advised not going over 50 saves a day, at a time when that included repins. Its own RSS auto-publish tops out at 200 new pins a day, which is a system cap rather than advice. In practice, spam filters react to patterns long before any hard number. Dozens of pins in a few minutes, the same image on many boards, or a brand-new account posting heavily on day one will draw attention at far lower totals.

Fresh pins vs repins: what actually counts

A fresh pin is a new image, even when it links to a page you’ve pinned before. That’s what Pinterest favors. Repinning your own pin to more boards, or saving the same image again, adds activity without adding anything new, and in bulk it looks like spam.

  • Counts as fresh: a new design for an old post, a different photo from the same recipe, a new headline aimed at another keyword.
  • Doesn’t: the same image saved to five boards, or the same pin re-uploaded with a different title.

One post can easily support several fresh pins: different photos, layouts and keywords, spread over weeks. Our title formulas help you aim each one at a different search.

How many boards should you save each pin to?

One, the board that matches the pin’s keyword most closely. Saving to a second related board later is fine. Mass-saving a pin across ten boards was a growth tactic years ago; now it mostly dilutes what each board is about.

Consistency matters more than the number

Pinterest favors accounts that publish steadily. Five pins every day for three months will almost always beat thirty pins one weekend and nothing for a month. Spread pins through the day rather than posting them together, and keep a steady rhythm on weekends too. When during the day? See our guide to the best time to post on Pinterest.

How to keep up without spending every evening on it

At 10 to 20 minutes per pin by hand, even three a day is an hour. Two options:

  1. Batch: make a week’s pins in one session and schedule them, free in Pinterest itself or with a Pinterest scheduler.
  2. Automate: let a tool create and pace the pins. SiteToSocial lets you choose the daily number, up to 15 per account. It rotates through every page of your site so each pin is fresh, never posts more than 2 a day for the same page, spreads pins through the day and warms up new accounts over 12 days.

Frequently asked questions

How many pins should I post per day on Pinterest?

Most accounts do best with 1 to 5 fresh pins a day, posted consistently. Large blogs and shops with hundreds of pages can go higher, toward 10 or 15, as long as every pin is a genuinely new image for a real page.

Is there a daily pin limit on Pinterest?

Pinterest publishes no official daily limit. A 2020 Pinterest webinar advised staying under 50 saves a day, and Pinterest's RSS auto-publish creates at most 200 pins a day, but spam filters react to sudden bursts long before any hard cap.

Is it bad to pin only a few times a week?

Not bad, just slower. A few strong, fresh pins a week still grow an account; consistency over months matters more than daily volume.

How many pins should a new account post?

Start with none to one pin a day while you set up, then build up over about two weeks. See our 12-day warm-up plan.

Do repins count toward the daily number?

They count as activity, but they do far less for you than fresh pins. Pinterest favors new images, and saving the same pin to many boards in a short time looks like spam.

How many boards should I save each pin to?

One: the most relevant board for that pin's keyword. A second, closely related board later is fine. Mass-saving one pin to many boards no longer helps.
